This DVD is part 1 of a special 18-DVD series by Great Britain Online recording the coastline of the entire British Isles at the start of the 21st century.

The DVD starts out at Lands End and takes us along the enchanting south Cornish coast with its delightful harbours, coves and beaches.

We cross the Tamar at historic Plymouth before passing through the Devon delights of Salcombe, Dartmouth and Torbay.

Teignmouth, Exmouth and Sidmouth are our next stops before we enter Dorset at Lyme Regis. Chesil Beach leads us to Portland then Weymouth before we journey on to Swanage.

We visit Poole and Bournemouth before we depart from Lymington for the Isle of Wight. We then cross Southampton Water to visit Portsmouth with its historic Dockyard.

Hayling Island, Bognor Regis and Worthing all lead us through West Sussex to our DVD destination at Brighton.

The DVD generally encompasses the entire coastline of the route set out, with occasional stops to highlight places of interest, or to take in some exceptional views.

The British Isles is a geographical term denoting the group of islands including Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales), Ireland and all the smaller isles and islands surrounding them.
