This DVD is part 2 of a special 18-DVD series by Great Britain Online recording the coastline of the entire British Isles at the start of the 21st century.
Our journey starts at the city resort of Brighton with its famous Royal Pavilion before moving on via Beachy Head to Eastbourne and historic Hastings.
We visit Folkestone and Dover where we explore the military tunnels and gun placements beneath those famous white cliffs. The Bleriot memorial and Dover Castle are included, as are views of the white cliffs from an inbound French ferry.
Ramsgate, charming Broadstairs, Margate, Herne bay, and Whitstable complete the coastal tour south of the Thames before we move north to Canvey Island.
We take a ride along the longest pleasure pier in the world at Southend-on-Sea before journeying northwards to Clacton-on-Sea, Walton-on-the-Naze and Felixstowe, where we see shipping bound for the Baltic and the West Indies.
Delightful Snape, Aldeburgh and Southwold are next, followed by Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth. Turning westwards we visit Cromer, Wells-next-the-Sea, Hunstanton and Kings Lynn by The Wash. Boston is our last stop before arriving at Skegness.
The DVD generally encompasses most of the coastline of the route set out, with occasional stops to highlight places of interest, or to take in some exceptional views.
