Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens

Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens

Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens are a rare survival of formal garden design of the early 18th century when gardens were an oasis of elegance and beauty, far removed from the often hostile world beyond their walls.

The Hall and Gardens were first built in 1599, but for decades had been sadly neglected until 1985 when archaeologists discovered that this was a garden of national importance.

The DVD takes a full tour of these splendid gardens with tour guide narration plus expert guidance from the Head Gardener. Many beautiful and rare plants are seen, together with the medicinal and 18th century vegetable gardens.

Great care has been taken by Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens Trust in restoring the gardens as near as possible to the period 1680 - 1740 including only those plants that were available to the gardeners of England during that period.
