Joined the Royal Navy at 12, a Captain at 20, known by all throughout Europe by 39 and died in battle when he was just 47, Nelson had a full and colourful life.

He won some of the greatest battles in British history; at the Nile – 1798, Copenhagen – 1801 and Trafalgar – 1805.

He survived many woundings including the loss of sight in one eye, the loss of an arm and a severe wound above his good eye.

He had a very public love affair with Emma Hamilton, one of the most beautiful women of the time, and was an affectionate father.

Nelson was a charismatic leader who inspired all who served under him. He was an opportunist in battle and possessed great courage and fortitude.

He became one of Britain’s greatest heroes.

This is the story of Admiral Lord Nelson.
